The link toolbar should be enabled by default once it has no perceptible impact
on page load, window load and application load times.

I think that this is at *least* dependent on bugs 102905 and 103428. I'd like
feedback on whether this bug should also be dependent on bug 102990.

There is argument about whether bug 102990 is even valid, so I would say no.

Please stop filing link toolbar bugs on me, I don't fix them.

Dependent on bug 102992 and bug 138496 I think.
I just know I'd like to have it back because I used it as an user and as a coder.
An option (not necessarily in the GUI) to disable it for purists of optimization
would be way better.

MASS-CHANGE:
This bug report is registered in the SeaMonkey product, but has been without a comment since the inception of the SeaMonkey project. This means that it was logged against the old Mozilla suite and we cannot determine that it's still valid for the current SeaMonkey suite. Because of this, we are setting it to an UNCONFIRMED state.
If you can confirm that this report still applies to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it back to the NEW state along with a comment on how you reproduced it on what Build ID, or if it's an enhancement request, why it's still worth implementing and in what way.
If you can confirm that the report doesn't apply to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it to the appropriate RESOLVED state (WORKSFORME, INVALID, WONTFIX, or similar).
If no action happens within the next few months, we move this bug report to an EXPIRED state.

This is so sad. I was hoping one day, this would be enabled by default, though I suppose with the popularity of Chrome's minimalistic interface (and the eventual removal of XUL/XBL), this is doomed. Anyway, I have it enabled and I don't notice any performance problems because of it.
