User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0
Build ID: 20150807094836

Steps to reproduce:

Go to https://www.vidixplore.com

There is a video playing in the background, causing a lot of flickering. This only started happened after upgrading to 40.0 on Linux (works fine on Windows), so I'm assuming it has to do with OMTC.

Actual results:

The video and everything in front of it flickers a lot.

Expected results:

No flickering.

I concur with the reporter in that it may be OMTC. Or at least it seems graphicsy.

I checked the site in the report, and there is no video (and so no flickering). Did the site change since this was reported? If so, can you find another site that reproduces the issue for you?

I still see a video there, though it's h264 only. Not sure what the preconditions are for getting h264 video to work on Linux. It plays on my installation of Kubuntu.

This page exhibits the same behavior for me: http://www.aaronvanderzwan.com/maximage/examples/html5video.html. I changed the URL for the ticket to that one.

Actually, this can probably be closed as invalid, it turns out that I had set layers.acceleration.force-enabled to true in about:config. Resetting it fixed it for me. Should have tested properly with a clean profile!

It's good to know the issue, this will get prioritized along with enabling the OpenGL compositor backend whenever that happens.
