Thanks for looking into this issue.
Options > Advanced > Network > Connection is set to
Use System proxy settings.
Additional information,
Chrome and IE are working fine in this scenario.

I don't know if you use a proxy at work, but before leaving your work to go home, can you set these settings to "no proxy" and test at home.

Yes I use proxy at work. That means every time I have to change this settings when I come back to home from work or go to work. Can't this happen automatically like chrome?
Some more information,
I checked chrome settings and found that it by default uses system settings. Then I checked my LAN settings. It is set to the following;
Use Automatic configuration script and an web address is given.(e.g. http://xyz.name.com/)
I guess you will need to use a PAC file or a script to switch between both configurations:
1) http://superuser.com/questions/45871/can-i-make-windows-7-change-my-proxy-settings-based-on-my-network-connection
2) http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2005/05/19/how-can-i-switch-between-using-a-proxy-server-and-not-using-a-proxy-server.aspx
But it's a thing that the IT guy of your corporate should manage if you use your work computer at home.

Thanks. I will try the PAC file option. But just curious, how chrome is able to handle it? I don't need to make any changes to chrome settings and it works absolutely fine.

Seems related to the problems and associated fix I'm working on in bug 1121800

Hi, would you please try Firefox Nightly and see if this issue has been fixed?
