The new "device registration" feature of Firefox Accounts allows the user to change a device's name from any of their connected Firefox devices. If a user starts a registered Firefox instance, Firefox should query FxA to see if the device's name has changed.

Is this bug the reason FxA shows the modified name of my iOS device, but "Send tab to device" on desktop shows the old one?

Panos, did you rename your iOS device on the device itself, or through https://accounts.firefox.com/settings/clients? I think iOS should send a push notification to all your other devices when its name changes...though it might be dropped if the other devices aren't online. We'll still want to follow Shane's suggestion and have Desktop query the current device name on startup, though. Shane, are you still planning to work on this, or can we snag it from you if you're busy?
