See attached video [0] Both the current mobile/android m-c experimental (TouchCaret/SelectionCarets) implementation and its new replacement (core/layout ... AccessibleCaret uses the sames logic as double-click to select by mouse. If double-clicking on some position selects some elements, long pressing on the position should select the same elements as well.

Like I said comment 2, AccessibleCaret does support rich text selection, and it does not limit what type of object (image, text, etc.) to select. So I think this is by design. I intend to close this, and investigate further in bug 1286882 for the SVG images. Mark, is it OK to you to close this?

Thanks TYLin, yes of course :) My quick reading on that bug did conflate single and double click actions for the triggering mech, so let's close this one.
