spun off while verifying bug 89975 and bug 56540 comment 13. pls reassign as needed. this is mac-specific --tested using 2002.01.29.11 comm bits on mac 10.1.2. 1. load a page with frames, eg, http://wired.com/ 2. click in a frame [like the main big one] to make it active. 3. dropdown the File toplevel menu in search of Save Frame As. results: Save Frame As is missing from the menu. [although Save Page As is there.] workaround: use context menu and select Save Frame As instead.

My mac is in bad shape as I've been tearing it up trying to get OS X to install correctly, so I won't be able to look at this any time soon. If this is urgent, might want to get somebody else to look at it, or else I will future it

Works for Me, release 1.2.1 , OS X 10.2.2. wired.com no longer uses frames, but I got the expected "Save Frame As..." at http://wp.netscape.com/assist/net_sites/example1-F.html

I'm probably not the right person to fix this (I do now see it on my MachO build, yesterday it seemed to work; very odd!) Is this the only menu item that behaves this way? Is the menu item supposed to be inserted/shown only when frames are present? over to Samir for further triage / reassignment

This seems to work in seamonkey trunk builds, but I can see the issue in the 1.1.4 release.

I saw this issue during a Litmus test case (Testcases - : FX 3.6 BFT - Menus). Reproducible when browsing to URLs that use frames, including a test case URL I just created (http://jrklein.com/mozilla/20100330/frame-page.html). When I browse to URL above in FF/3.6.2 final, "Save Frame As..." DOES appear and works fine BUT when I browse to URL above in FF/3.7a4pre, "Save Frame As..." does NOT appear. Builds I tested: FF/3.6.2/OSX - Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.2) Gecko/20100316 Firefox/3.6.2 FF/3.7a4pre/OSX (20100330030612) - Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.3a4pre) Gecko/20100330 Minefield/3.7a4pre

I'm resolving this as wfm based on my comment #12 and the fact that it works in a recent trunk build. As for comment #13, Firefox doesn't have the menuitem anymore (bug 468881).

Oh, right - this was a 1.1.x bug. That means it's a wontfix.
