User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:0.9.8) Gecko/20020204
BuildID: 2002020406
If you enter a search term in the location bar which is matched exactly once
with the previously visited URLs, there's one blank line in the search combobox.
This only occurs since .9.8 AFAIK
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. enter a term in the search bar which matches part of an URL that you
previously visited
2. make sure that it only matches ONE previously visited URL
Actual Results: an empty selection appears before the "Search for .." selection
Expected Results: only one selection should appear before the "Search for .."
selection

Well its not really an empty selection - since you can't actually select it.
I guess that the up and down buttons cause this problem and that they shouldn't
be there if there is only one selection.

This is a regression that is still visible as we approach 1.0. This should be
fixed, as it (A)makes the autocomplte dropdown look unprofessional and (B)has
the possibility to make people click these scroll arrows, and then think that
mozilla is broken because nothing is happening when they're trying to scroll.

I agree. This looks very sloppy.

The blan line is not a whole line, but a vertical space. I suspect it's there to
allow the two scroll buttons to appear.
The problem, of course, is that the scroll buttons should not appear if there is
only one possible match.

Sorry for spamming with comments that others have already made. I guess I should
learn to read. :)

This is annoying as this works properly with WIN XP (Classis Theme only) due
to the native theme support I guess, however once you change to modern this
bug shows up and makes it look like modern is broken

I see ther was some selective deleting done on my last post. I'll open a bug
on one of my other deleted statements, however, will repost the rest anyway.
This bug, as many other UI polish bugs, have been open since around 2000.
Mozilla's outward appearance (UI) needs to be fixed up. Nobody seems to
care. And the partial deletion of my last post just confirms that even more.
