Please avoid reporting more than one problem in the same bug report. Problem 1) is a dupe of bug 74929 Problem 2): I don't know how much "much longer" means, but it's inevitable that bidi text will take longer than the same amount of Roman text, because more processing is required. Problem 3): Can you provide a screen shot? This is presumably a font problem of some kind. I don't see a similar problem on either Windows or Linux, but on both platforms some characters are displayed as question marks, for example 0xAB (which is in fact not a legal character in the ISO-8859-6 codepage). Problem 4): What do you mean by "the name list"? The list in the "Go" menu?

Per email from Ahmad with screen shots, problem 3 was a font issue, and problem 4 dupes bug 36689. I am modifying the summary to focus this bug on the performance issue. Ahmad says: "I compared the download time with iCab v. 2.7.1 and Arabic enabled Netscape v. 4.7.7 (using a WinArabic from http://www.mughamarat.com/), it take longer time for mozilla to load the Arabic/Persian page".

is issue #2 related to bug 140841 ?

Display of the given URL was slow, but correct using Mac/2002052305 (1.0). Page displayed in nonsensical characters in Mac IE, and in apparently Chinese characters in iCab 2.8. Thus, Mozilla's performance can't be realistically compared with any other browser that actually displays the page right.

I recommend this bug be resolved WFM. Everything appears to work correctly and with fine speed using Mac/2002071608.
