Mesh gradients allow more complex gradients. They are defined in the SVG 2 spec.[1] Sebastian [1] https://svgwg.org/svg2-draft/pservers.html#MeshGradients

First of all, Happy New Year! I believe mesh gradients are one of the most important features of the SVG 2 spec. and just got released in Inkscape 0.92 today. The SVGWG[1] as well as the Inkscape team[2] are pushing implementations. So, I hope Mozilla considers this as something important, too. Jet, can you please triage and prioritize this issue? We've discussed mesh gradients several times internally. We're not saying no to mesh gradients, but MoCo employees won't be working on them any time soon. We're aware that Inkscape and Illustrator users find these types of gradient useful and I'd personally love to be able to support them, but we have other (non-SVG) projects that are currently higher priority I'm afraid. Sorry. :(

Thank you for the fast response, Jonathan! Sad to hear that SVG currently has a low priority for the team. :-( Anyway, according to your statement, I set the priority to P3. Sebastian
Priority: -- → P3
