For some reason, while doing normal browsing, the URL Bar looses focus along
with all the other text boxes in that instance of Mozilla. There is NO way to
get it back, I have tried waiting, tried clicking everything, tried hitting Tab,
etc. If I go to File > New Navigator Window, then both the new AND the old
instance, that had previously unfocused text boxes, work again. They both work
fine until the newer instance is closed, then the first instance open stops
working again. The URL Bar cannot be selected, nor can any other text box that
happens to be on the page. There is really nothing for the user to do, besides
restarting mozilla, thus loosing any page you are at, along with any information
you have filled in, if the page contained a form with text boxes. This happened
just now, as I was looking at other bugs listed, and I lost the information I
was trying to look at, so I decided to post this problem and see if there is
anything to be done. I'm sure it can be reproduced, but I have yet to try on a
different system/setup. I am on FreeBSD 4.5-RELEASE, build 20020206 (even
though on my title bar, it still says Build: 0000000000 for some reason. I guess
that is a different bug I might have to submit later if I don't see it already
posted). Thanks,
-Frank

Confirmed that this happens in my 2002021123 build on i386/Linux as well.

Still confirmed in 2002030706/i386 Linux nightly. Now downloading 2002031103 to
see if it makes a difference.

Still confirmed in 20020404. This is getting to be an *amazingly* irritating
bug, and I'm switching back to using links more and more frequently simply
because I cannot fill out simple forms anymore.

This sounds like you've installed Mozilla over an existing installation.
What happens if you try a new profile ?
Safe to say that not everybody is having problems like this
or it would be unusable...
Detailed reproduction steps might help

This one seems to be well covered under bug 70812. I'm downloading another
nightly as I type this to confirm what's up.
Reproduction steps: Difficult to say. Usually dismissing dialog boxes can
trigger it, as well as it happening pretty much randomly after having used
Mozilla for a few minutes.
Depends on: keydead
Reporter: Which window manager are you using
If twm or no wm: dup of bug 78928

I'm using Fluxbox (a Blackbox-derivative) as WM. I can try another one later
and see if it makes any difference.
I run Enlightenment 0.16.5, and this still seems to occur, although it is more
rare these days (3 months after original post).
