I migrated my old Netscape 4.x profile. Then with mozilla I could not connect to any web server. Reason is: Long ago I used some proxies for ftp and http. Later I changed it to direct internet connection. In netscape 4.7 I see these old configuration again if I chose "manual proxy configuration". But in mozilla 0.9.7 or 0.9.8 I cannot see this configuration, but it is indeed in use, and there are entries in pref.js. I cannot store the option "direct connection" (it is unchecked next time I visit this page). Solution: I deleted the proxy lines in prefs.js (only the line "user_pref("network.proxy.type", 3);" I have left in this file. Now I can use mozilla. Greetings, Burkhard Schultheis
