When I was working on adding the checkerboard recording stuff, I noticed that on OS X there was often a single frame of checkerboarding during startup, and the dimensions of the checkerboard were always 100x100. Looking at the telemetry data broken down by OS [1] it seems that I'm not alone in this, as there is a spike on OS X corresponding to that data point (10k on the x-axis in the graph). It would be good to track down what's causing that and fix it. I suspect the Linux peak to the right of the OS X peak is the same thing but a slightly different size.

The peak seems to have gone away.
