User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:39.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/39.0
Build ID: 20150630154324
Steps to reproduce:
Tried to copy Text from Links
Actual results:
The Browser follows the Link or does not copy or copies more text than needed
Expected results:
This is a Feature Request.
It should be easy to copy Anchor Texts. Many Homepages place important Texts into anchor texts due to SEO reasons. But often, the user wants to copy and paste exact this information from the link (i.E. the product S/N or EAN) in order to search for it on another site i.E. for reviews. In the attached file you see a screenshot of the eBay search result page. The Items Caption is the Link, but contains the important information about the item. You cannot copy it, you have to follow the link and search for the information somewhere else in the description in order to copy it. Sometimes even tho destination page does not contain this information in plain text.
What you could do in this situation is to copy more text than the link and after pasting the copied text remove the too many words. This can be a lot in some cases and also style information.
Easiest desired Feature Request solution would be the possibility to change the Cursor so you can click without following the link (like in text processing software press CTRL). So: Just press CTRL while howering the link and the cursor will change from Thumb to "Text Select" and you can copy the text.
This feature I desire for a long time. I thing you might know the problem already, too, agree and implement it.
If is is the wrong place for feature requests please forward it.

Thanks for your report, but this issue is known. It looks like bug 50673
is where we will implement it so I'm closing this as duplicate of that bug.
