For firebug theme : It may be better to have the "Clear & "Persist" buttons/text on the left to make it consistent with the network panel.

Consistent location for common toolbar controls is something we need to tackle across all themes. Sounds like the firebug theme is putting the clear button somewhere else in the network panel, because default themes have it in bottom right (which doesn't seem like a great location). Also, by the way, are you talking about Firebug 3 or Firebug 2? If this is a Firebug 3 thing it should probably be filed in https://github.com/firebug/firebug.next, although it'd be great to see a couple of screenshots of the current locations in network panel and console so we can consider the toolbar layout wrt the default themes.

I was told by Jan to file enhancement/bugs for firebug next in Bugzilla, see : https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en-GB#!topic/firebug/fCJ_hjDNWFo I vote to change the position of the console clear button to the left. In firebug 2 the clear button is always to the far left for both panels. So it would be familiar to those who use FB2. In the native devtools the console clear is up top and the network clear button is in the bottom right, always a slight mental delay to find it.

I'm proposing with my designs for the regular Firefox themes at least to move clear buttons to the upper left corner when a panel has a clear.

I think this is dupe of Bug 1220208, which is making the clear button placement consistent across the tools based on Helen's designs. Helen: if you think this should stay open as a separate issue then please reopen. I don't know if Firebug theme will need to be adjusted after that lands, so we can reopen this one if it needs to change.

It's fine, I'm just thinking that the positioning fixes in Bug 1220208 will also fix Firebug.next. I may be wrong about that though. Honza, do you think we will need another issue for changing the positioning of these buttons in Firebug.next or will changes to dark/light theme in Bug 1220208 also fix the firebug theme?

I am not sure what is the final suggestion in bug 1220208, but the right solution for the Firebug theme is suggested by Mahks here in comment #3 "I vote to change the position of the console clear button to the left. In firebug 2 the clear button is always to the far left for both panels." (both panels == The Console and Net panel) So, the Firebug theme should do it that way. Is this also the agreement in bug 1220208? Honza

The last patch in Bug 1220208 moved the clear buttons to the top right in both net monitor and web console IIRC. It also switched it to an icon instead of a text button. Helen, do you have an opinion on the short term positioning of the 'clear' button in web console (and/or netmonitor)?

Just re-read Comment 4 where Helen suggests top-left for this icon. So seems like the plan for going forward could be to move clear button to top left for all themes (including Firebug) in Bug 1220208
