From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.8) Gecko/20020204
BuildID: 2002020406
The time Mozilla needs for scrolling on this page is very long when I use the
(vertical) scrollbar.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open www.cosmopolitan.de
2.Wait for the site to be completely loaded
3.scrolldown the page using the scrollbar
Actual Results: You will experience a slow scrolling speed.
Expected Results: Scroll at least as fast as IE 5.5SP1
My computer:
AMD K62-500
128Megs RAM
Voodoo-Banshee Graphics (16Megs)

This page seemed to have scrolled slower while loading. Once loaded, it
scrolled fine.
My system:
Windows XP Home Edition

to compositor. This is most likely a dup of various other scrolling bugs (and
this has _what_ to do with the parser? :) )

I wont create a new bug, cause probably the same, but scrolling a 'bigger' page
cause prcessor usage 100%, and of course its very slow, even after page is
downloaded.
Check: http://www.phpbuilder.com/columns/tim20001112.php3
Platform: win2k, Build: 20020211915
Back to this bug's url: the www.cosmopolitan.de on win2k, sp2. build 2002021915
scrolls fine for me during download too.

I tried this one and scrolling is fine on my machine. Maybe it is because of the
amount of images on that page: unlike cosmopolitan, phpbuilder has very few
graphics.

It is also possible that later Builds (mine is the original .9.8 release,
Build ID: 2002020406) don't have a problem with this site any longer but how
come that a minly text-based site causes 100% CPU-use and scrolling a site with
loads of images works well? There are certainly scrolling issues that have to be
fixed. If I would want to convince my wife to use Mozilla and the use browser
behaves that way on her favourite site she simply would not use Mozilla, so to
her it is a showstopper.

original URL appears to be fixed, 2002-2-21-03 w2k, probably bug 122996, also
bug 98252 (in 0.9.8) has contributed to tiling and fixing several problems with
scrolling. not seeing any slow scrolling anymore on many bugs.

Well, it still doesn't work for me, although I got me a new build (2002030103).
Especially if you compare Scrolling speed to IE5.5 SP1. Doesn't Mozilla want to
do _better_ than IE?

As cosmopolitan.de still has poor scrolling performance (by now, I'm using build
Nr2002070908), I reopen the bug.

cosmopolitan.de has a large background image - marking dupe of bug 143046 (by
way of bug 143219, for example)... hope that's right.
