Details

(Whiteboard: tpi:+)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0
Build ID: 20160429105046

Steps to reproduce:

It would be nice if firefox used popovers for the 'show bookmarks', 'open menu' and 'display downloads' toolbar items.

Component: Untriaged → Widget: Gtk
Product: Firefox → Core
The toolbar menu items already use "up arrows" or whatever they are called which is basically similar to native gtk+ popovers. Perhaps theme them like gtk+ popovers?
An example https://blogs.gnome.org/mcatanzaro/files/2016/03/Screenshot-from-2016-03-30-19-42-09.png
This is what epiphany (a native gtk+ browser) looks like. Notice the downloads popover.
