@Johann: Should this AddOn be compatible with Windows XP? I tested in Nightly and Aurora and I am unable to post icons (I only get a Unicode symbol. Please reference screenshot as I may not be applying the correct term.

E10s and Shims configurations have no effect, the results are always the same.
Tested these conditions:
   E10s and Shim Enabled 
   E10s Enabled Shim Disabled 
   E10s and Shim Disabled
   E10s Disabled Shim Enabled

I think Windows XP doesn't support unicode emoji so that's fine. I'm pretty sure there's no way to work around that and it's not Firefox fault. Thanks for looking into my addon, I'll assume that this is the only compat issue and close it :)
