Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:46.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/46.0
Build ID: 20160503215307

Steps to reproduce:

I selected and dragged a paragraph of text on a random webpage ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xkcd ) for example.

Actual results:

Firefox freezes when I begin to drag, then freezes one or three other times. It's not blocking, but looks very laggy.

Expected results:

The dragged text should move perfectly smoothly, like it used to do.

I cannot confirm this issue, not even with a relatively slow computer.

Can you reproduce this issue with a fresh firefox profile?
If yes, can you please provide more details on your computer (hard- and software)? going to about:support should give some relevant info. Furthermore this might be an issue with your compositor/window manager, so we need some basic info on this.
If no, this behaviour is specific to some addons or preferences of yours. Can you try running firefox with addons disabled? Also have a look at about:support and have a look at "important modified preferences" and try changing them to defaults in about:config.
What's your version of Gtk3?
