1. Probably optional: I started with a freshly opened Mozilla,
configured to start with a blank page.
2. Type http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/query.cgi
into URL box and hit return. (Any site with
pulldown menus will probably do.)
3. Pull down the "matching as substring" menu.
4. Don't select anything new. Move the mouse off it.
5. Click elsewhere to make the menu go away.
6. Hold down Command and hit Q. Nothing happens.
7. Click elsewhere to remove focus.
8. Hold down Command and hit Q. Mozilla quits.
I first noticed this on http://moons.info while verifying that bug 124350 is
fixed and no longer crashes Mozilla. On that site, I also notice that the menu
items do not highlight properly as the mouse rolls over them. Is that an
unrelated bug?

html form controls, no xpmenus
Component: XP Toolkit/Widgets: Menus → HTML Form Controls

Also happens on Windows 98 (reported on Mac OS 9). A safer example than Ctrl+Q
is Ctrl+N. Btw, hey Bob :)
OS: Mac System 9.x → All
Hardware: Macintosh → All
Summary: Menu "focus" disables keyboard accelerators → Application keyboard shortcuts fail when focus on listbox or drop-down
