Tested using Nexus 6P(7.0) on Beta(49.0b11) Steps to reproduce: 1. Clean profile 2. Open fennec and go to Top sites 3. Long tap any top site, 'Add to Homescreen' and press device home button -> adds the bookmark to Homescreen 4. Don't kill fennec and from background tray open it again 5. Repeat step 3 -> there is no bookmark to your Homescreen Actual result: You can Add Bookmarks to Homescreen only the first time after clean profile. Expected result: It should work every time. You should be able to Add Bookmarks to Homescreen. Note: On nightly this works fine.

I can't really reproduce this with a Nexus 6P and Android 7.0. At least once it took a while until the icon appeared though. The favicon code in Aurora, Beta, Release will perform a download if the icon is not available locally: https://dxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-aurora/source/mobile/android/base/java/org/mozilla/gecko/favicons/Favicons.java#614 Maybe the download was very slow (or failed) for you?

Hi Sebastian, The slow download is not the case here, I waited long enough and still doesn't work. The connection works fine. But I also attached some logs.

This also works for me on a Nexus 5x running 7.0. If I force my phone to 2g then I see up to a 10 second delay when making the bookmark.

This is not reproducing anymore. So I will mark this bug as WFM. Tested with Nexus 6P(7.0) on latest builds of Release, Beta and Aurora and now works as expected. Will reopen if the issue still reproduces.
