Expected results: should have repaired the database. should have had "repair folder" as a context menu item.
workaround: compacting the folder brings the messages back.
This is an imap account? (seems like this should be a duplicate) Rremoved "not available in context menu" because 1. one issue per bug report please, 2. it's not a common function, and therefore it is intentionally not on the context menu by design

I've done a many repairs, and never seen what you describe. The folder is initially cleared, but the folder contents are immediately re-downloaded. Makes me wonder if the mail server is behaving correctly. Is this yahoo? (they can be odd)
