Steps to reproduce:
I just noticed the little key icon wasn't updated for hidpi displays. see picture attached
Are you sure it's not the icon of a security add-on like a password manager?
I'm not sure it's a native icon to Firefox.

Sorry I should have specified, it's for the password manager built into Firefox. No add ons or plugins are installed
Yeah, you're right, this key icon is displayed when the user is saving password.

I believe this is fixed in later versions, but I don't remember the bug number off-hand.

This was fixed in Firefox 50 by bug 1274480.
