I have also noticed this behavior, when the white dim is shown, the other matches are not noticeable enough - there is no highlight.

Mass wontfix for bugs affecting firefox 52.

This happens only on reddit.com - because they instantly invalidate all the ranges - and is corrected once you hit <Enter> a second time. Therefore setting the priority low.
