Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020312 BuildID: 2002031309 (self compiled from 0.9.9 sources) All preferences related to mail, news, addressing, security are gone! No certificate manager, crl manager and so on, just the plain browser prefences are there. Could be related to bug #130558. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open Edit->Preferences 2.only Appearance, Navigator, Privacy&Security, Advanced, Debug show up, Privacy&Security is empty 3. Actual Results: nothing, the mail/news and security preferences didn't show up Expected Results: preferences for mail/news and security should be available The version of mozilla is compiled with the Sun Forte 6.2 compiler. The binary I downloaded had the same problem if i remember right (I tossed it away because it had no mail/news due to bug #130558 which the self compiled mozilla also suffers from)
I found a workaround! If I remove chrome/chrome.rdf everything shows up. So somehow this file gets created wrong. Removing of chrome/chrome.rdf also fixes (well, or works around) #130558, #130794, #130797.
This happened to me in a similar flavor -- I had no submenus for the Privacy & Security preference. None. Deleting chrome.rdf fixed the problem. I was also on Solaris but using gcc top compile.
This is a duplicate of bug 125489, and it should be fixed in RC2 and recent nightly builds. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 125489 ***
