Environment: Beta 50.0b4 Device: Samsung Galaxy S6 EDGE (Android 6.0); Build: Aurora Beta 50.0b4; Steps to reproduce: 1. Have the de3vice oriented in landscape mode 2. Open firefox and go to goo.gl/ZClrcM 3. Play the HLS video Expected result: Video should not be played full screen Actual result: Video is played fullscreen Also please see 1294823. What's happening here is the video aspect ratio is the same as your screen, so it just kinda works out that way. Not sure what we can reasonably do here. Anthony?

Hey Mihai! Can you help me see what the user problem is here? It sounds to me like it's working as expected. Given that most videos are consumed in landscape mode, full screen makes sense to take advantage of the screen dimensions.

Hi Anthony, In correlation with "Bug 1294823 - Don't use a fullscreen view for HLS" and to keep it consistent all the way, in my opinion this should be applied in both scenarios, portrait and landscape. I cannot argue with your points stated in comment 2 but here there is a behavior mismatch due to the previous mentioned bug.

Sounds like there's not much we can easily do here if it's a matter of coincidence.

I think the close button planned in bug 1310899 will help this one maybe
