When using One-Off searches in about:home or about:newtab, if you happen to hover a suggestion before clicking a one-off button, the suggestion text is used instead of the typed query to perform the search. STR - Navigate to about:home - Type something in the search field and wait for the suggestions to pop up - Hover (do not click!) on a suggestion - Click on any one-off engine - The engine will search using the suggestion text (expected: search using the user query)

I actually thought we were doing the opposite, thus if you select a one-off and then click on a suggestion we'd use the suggestion. Is the behavior different from the searchbar?
(In reply to Marco Bonardo [::mak] from comment #1) > I actually thought we were doing the opposite, thus if you select a one-off > and then click on a suggestion we'd use the suggestion. Mh, nope. I can't seem to reproduce the other way around that you mentioned. > Is the behavior different from the searchbar? Yes, it works correctly in the searchbar.

This WFM on the latest nightly (70.0a1), I suspect something changed in the last few years.
