To force the TextView contained by the Toolbar to ellipsize at the start we currently use a fairly ugly approach that could break in the future: > + Field f = toolbar.getClass().getDeclaredField("mTitleTextView"); > + f.setAccessible(true); > + textView = (TextView) f.get(toolbar); > + textView.setEllipsize(TextUtils.TruncateAt.START); Possibly adding our own TextView to the Toolbar would be a safer approach.
