Mac specific platform integration issues: Use Internet Config to control mapping of protocols to helper apps. Impacts (at least) Gecko, Necko and Prefs. The latter should definitely use IC as the UI for setting helper apps as it will largely eliminate the Mac specific work required.

tony has done the work for dispatching external protocols to IC. There still needs to be an XP UI to say for dispatch mailto: externally but that is a seperate issue so I am marking this fixed.

Steve says that (last time he spoke with davidm) if there's no MIME mapping in our list, Mozilla will search Internet Config for MIME mappings. --- Gagan, has similar work been done for networking protocol handling from Internet Config? (e.g. dispatching ftp:// or whois:// to other applications) --- Likewise, mscott or anyone, I don't quite understand davidm's 2000-05-03 17:36 comment --- does this mean that someone needs to open a new feature tracking bug to cover the XP UI for external mailto: dispatching, or is it on someone else's plate, or...? Gagan, this should be marked a dup of the bug I filed on Gordon to implement the Internet Config hookups for the Mac for helper apps.
