could the browser remember what items i used last time, and could it leave it
open. for example i open Preferences... than i open item (e.g. Advanced) then i
select another item (under Advanced, e.g. Cache). i clos e preferences, open it
again, and all is closed.
could the items at least stay opened, if not selected?

I think adding persist=open on the container pref categories would be a start.
