See last paragraph of bug 1322145 comment #0: What about people who include their vCard via a file link? Maybe we should process links in signatures as well.
You're not supposed to send your vCard using that method, we have other methods for that, with UI even. I'm not saying it's impossible that someone is set up to do something similar, but I'd just drop support for that. The idea that links can link to internal data is not very intuitive.
Make it WONTFIX. I wanted to raise awareness, as you can see from my e-mail to the author of "Signature Switch", which is a very fine add-on, BTW.
Plus the summary reads: "Consider ...". So you've considered it ;-)
