From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020311 BuildID: 2002031104 Mozilla is repeatedly displayed pages from the http://news.bbc.co.uk website with the wrong fonts. If I reload, then the fonts will be displayed correctly. More detail: The BBC site appears to specify an Arial font is used throughout. Occassionlly the entire page is rendered in what looks Times New Roman. A reload will generally cause the page to be displayed correctly. Occassionally this has resulted in hanging or a crash. I see this on my machine, a Windows 98 SP2 with all "critical" updates via MS "Windows Update", used *solely* for browswing the web (No installs other than Mozilla for the last year). I have also seen this on others' Win98 and WinNT machines (cannot verify "patch" levels on these machines) I realise how useless a "occassionaly happens" bug report is, but I've neglected to post this report for the last 5 or 6 builds under the assumptions a) the site is widely browsed and the problem will be seen by others b) might be immediately related to mods to latest build. let it ride out a little... If it helps, my browsing pattern is pretty strict... I type "news.bbc.co.uk" I generally select "Talking point" I usually view some talking points, hitting back after viewing each one. I generally select "Sci/Tech" I'd say 1 in 5 of these sessions results in a single page being displayed with Times New Roman fonts. I don't experience the problem with any other sites. I've never seen the problem with any other browser. When the problem occurs, I have "viewed source" and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with what's displayed, but then the fonts are controlled from a linked css page. If I can help more, email neil@neilpearce.com Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. I type "news.bbc.co.uk" in location bar 2. Site is displayed, I generally select "talking point" 3. I view 1 or 2 talking points, hitting back after each 4. I generally select "Sci/Teck" 1 in 5 times, a single page from this session will be rendered in Times New Roman, rather than Arial. Actual Results: 1 in 5 times, a single page will be displayed with Times New Roman, rather than Arial. Expected Results: Displayed all pages rendered with Arial font I am unable to reproduce HTML causing the same effect, sorry.
I'm getting the same thing without difficulty, 2002032610 Win 2000, just reload http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/default.stm 4 or 5 times. I can't find a dupe of this at the moment, looking into it.
In 2002032608 trunk for MacOS, wrong font is not used, but bold font is sometimes rendered without bolding, which seem to cause spill over of texts into the next column of a table. For example, <b class="h1">Aftershocks 'increase Afghan quake toll'</b><br> can be displayed without bold style, which sometimes gets corrected on reloading or changing font size.
