Create a new email. Try to attach a file, an image to the email. Actual results: No dialog window appears e no error messages in web console. After the application of "Refresh Firefox" option, dialog window for attachment appears. But after quitting and restarting firefox the problem is present again. Expected results: Dialag window appears with the button to select the file. Selecting the file, the attachment is related to the new mail.

It seems to be an e10s issue. This diagnosis is consistent with OWA popups working in the first session after a Refresh, since Firefox doesn't enable multi-process until performing a compatibility assessment during that first session. And at least one user with this issue confirmed disabling multiprocess was an effective workaround. https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1166878 It's not clear what versions of Exchange Server are affected. If it has been resolved in the current Office 365 / Outlook.com release -- I'm not seeing reports on SuMo -- it may be difficult to collect a lot of data on the problem.

I have the same problem. I have disabled multiprocess windows, exited and restarted ff and it makes no difference. The troubleshooting information is below in case it helps someone. Heya jon33040, unfortunately it doesn't really help them. :( But currently there's no modern browser that supports this functionality for older installs of OWA that rely on the showModalDialog API -- the best solution is to get in touch with whoever maintains the instance of OWA they use and ask that it be upgraded. The problem doesn't exist in recent versions. Sorry, it's not a satisfying solution.

The original report probably wasn't related to window.showModialDialog, since that was still present in Firefox 52... But for Firefox 56+, you'll need to find a workaround. For example, if it doesn't get you in trouble with your company, an add-on could injects a substitute for the missing method into the page. That's only true if you had e10s disabled. e10s broke showModalDialog.
