Details

This is Mozilla nightly build 2002040108. Tab titles are destroyed (changed to "(Untitled)") whenever a link is used on a tabbed page which uses a helper application, for example PS or PDF file viewer. (Note: this *does not* affect "Save Link As" or Shift-Button1, only simple Button1 with a helper application associated with the linked data) Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the given URL (http://citeseer.nj.nec.com/cs?q=woodchuck&cs=1) 2. Open one of the given documents in a tab (rightclick -> Open in New Tab) 3. Go to the new tab 4. Click on PS or PDF link, whichever will launch an external program (gv, acroread, xpdf ...)

vrfy'd fixed using 2002.07.25 comm TRUNK builds on linux rh7.2, win2k and mac 10.1.5. tested by opening a new tab containing links to non-html content (pdf, doc, etc), then clicking on the links to launch the appropriate helper application. the tab title remains unchanged (does not change to "Untitled").
