Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020310 BuildID: 2002031005 After mozilla crashes (pretty rare, now. ;o), restarting mozilla takes an EXTREMELY long time. I get the splash screen, then the first browser window, and then it just hangs there, accessing the hard drive. I can hear it grinding away. I usually force quit after 5+ minutes. Seems to go away if I delete the cache directory for the default profile. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Crash Mozilla. ;o) 2. Try to restart mozilla Actual Results: First browser window opens, wait as it grinds away. Seems like some sort of disk access. Expected Results: restart as quickly as it usually does To solve this problem, I go into /Users/{username}/Library/Mozilla/Profiles/Default/, go into the profile dir and delete the Cache directory. Restart mozilla and it works great. Running Mac OS X 10.1.3, Powerbook G3 500, 256 MB RAM, 5GB free on a 10GB hard drive.
Duplicate of "After crashing or getting killed the restart is very slow" We clear the cache after crashes, and this operation is apparently very slow on the Mac filesystem.... see also bug 122597 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 103851 ***
