Details

The current code naively counts crash pings to compute the crash information on the firefox-dashboard[1]. We should change it to use the agreed-upon method of counting crashes per t.m.o/crashes[2] and the crash_aggregates dataset[3].

It sounds like this is the dashboard that Mozilla management is consulting, but release management and stability teams are relying on leaving out the content crashes on shutdown (since they should not be visible to users). So, until this is fixed, our management may not understand how the engineering, QE, and product integrity teams are judging Firefox stability.
Ritu, FYI we should make sure this is fixed but I don't think it needs to affect the upcoming release.

Who owns this dashboard and fixing it? I don't think relmgmt team uses it.

:pdol says we can just nix the crashes plot since the dash itself is about to be replaced and there are better sources for truth in the interim (arewestableyet.com, https://telemetry.mozilla.org/crashes)

I've submitted the following PR to remove the crash plot and link to better sources:

Merged and deployed. Thanks for the review :chutten!

I'm leaving this open because the report code will still need to be modified to either fix or remove the crash counts.
