Crash Data
I have regular crashes with Thunderbird 52.b4 since I upgraded from macOS 10.12.3 to 10.12.4.
The crashes happen repeatedly when I click on my newsgroups account (news.gmane.org).

Sorry, but the crash ID bp-6117ed1d-d72b-452e-9059-c32822170401 is the same ID as my crash ID, but it's not my crash.

Because the version doesn't match?
We can better track your crashes if you put in an email address - even if it is fake :)

What are your other crash reports?

I unfortunately forgot to turn on crash reports earlier.
I just had the following crash which strangely resulted in two crash reports:
bp-ac7054cf-3831-4a3b-bdcd-2afd22170402
bp-527ce174-5fee-45d9-90ee-1296d2170402
Even though the crash seems to indicate an issue with folder compacting, it always happens when accessing the newsgroup folder.

Does it happen if you disable automatic compact?
> I have regular crashes with Thunderbird 52.b4 since I upgraded from macOS 10.12.3 to 10.12.4.
On what date did you update?
Not many user crash comments mention newsgroups. Most that do are nsDocShell::EndPageLoad 54.0a1 bp-c58ff0de-1fc5-44b5-98f1-391782170207 which was related to bug 1336802. But it states 52 is unaffected

Summary: Crashes with macOS 10.12.4 → Crashes with macOS 10.12.4 when accessing the newsgroup folder

I'm using a MacBook Pro Retina 13", Mid 2014.
I have no crashes without automatic compacting of folders.

That would make this a duplicate of bug 1158578. The fix will come in 54.0b1

Note that bug 1158578 is *only* about IMAP folders and this bug here seems to be related to news folders. So I would doubt that this bug here is fixed. Please reopen if the crashes persist.
