User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0
Build ID: 20170419100228
Steps to reproduce:
1. about:profiles > You create a fresh profile and run it.
2. https://web.whatsapp.com > Login with the QR-Code
3. close firefox and run this profile again
4. open https://web.whatsapp.com again, you are logged in
5. on about:preferences#privacy there are no cookies, no website data, and 6,3 MB in the cache. where is my login stored (localstorage/webstorage)? A week ago there was a list unter "website data". bug 1355795 fixed a problem on this. I don't know if that was the cause.
6. On my default profile, no whatsapp session is stored across closing the whatsapp tab and open https://web.whatsapp.com again. And no, I don't delete something "with closing nightly". Even if I don't close Nightly, the session is not saved.

For no cookies, do you mean nothing listed under Cookies subdialog(see attachment 8859815 [details] cookies-subdialog.png) ?
For no website data, do you mean nothing listed under Site Data Settings subdialog(see attachment 8859816 [details] site-data-settings-subdialog.png) ?

Do you mean login into whatsapp then closing Firefox, then open Firefox, the login session is disappeared?
Could you elaborate more on this part?
Thanks

See the comment from https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1355795#c28.
So do you mean the "The following websites are allowed to store data for offline use:" list (see attachment 8859823 [details]:
offline-data-group.png) is gone but the new Site Data Settings doesn't list websites?

No whatsapp cookies (Maybe they don't use cookies)

Correct. I will upload an image.

* a new profile does save the whatsapp login, but doesn't show it anywhere on about:preferences
* in my default config I was dumb and made a mistake, the session is now saved like in the default profile, but the behavior is the same: no whatsapp cookies, no offline storage showed, only some http cache.

Don't confuse. No. 10 on attachment 8859976 [details] (screenshots.png) is another profile than No. 1-9. The offline storage isn't shown on both.

OK in fact the Site Data Settings dialog you see in attachment 8859816 [details]: site-data-settings-subdialog.png is different from attachment 8859823 [details]: offline-data-group.png you used to see. The offline data section is currently hidden on Nightly. The plan around reorganising storage-related sections are under going. For now, not seeing the offline data would not impact browsing web page(just hidden).
Thank you

Thanks for the clarification. As the cookie settings affect Localstorage, I want to suggest to combine both into one list (Cookies and other localstorage things in one table). But just hiding such data without a replacement is not acceptable. How should I know at this moment, which websites (maybe) stored tracking information?
