From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; 1&1 Internet AG) BuildID: 2002040608 Yesterday, I tried to switch from build 2002032603 to nightly/latest of 20020405 with exactly the same result as build 2002040608: when I start Mozilla, "Mail & Newsgroups" seem to work as normal, but the opened browser window is just a grey frame without content (see attachment). It is also not possible to open a new browser-window. Unfortunately I am currently not able to get Mozilla working again because trying to switch back to 2002032603 (using mozilla-win32-installer-sea.exe), Mozilla does not work correct after re-installing the old version. Maybe someone can give me a hint, what of the latest builds is working or how I can get the current build working? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: On my system, just start it. Actual Results: A grey browser-window Expected Results: A normal browser-window as usual.

My original cfg was generated by one of the first Mozilla 0.9.x by converting my old NS4 prefs. Since then, I use them.
I will try, but please tell me the exact steps for a "clean install". I do not want to loose my current cfgs, pws, formdata, adressbook etc...

I just restarted Mozilla (without changing anything!). This time, the browser window was ok but the mail-window was corrupted...
I have just created an incident, for the second situation (second attached image). ID: TB4916368W Hope, it helps...
Uninstall reinstall should solve problem.. (If not, reopen) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 135222 ***

Heureka! I got it working again! ;-) I just removed the complete Mozilla-program-folder an re-installed 2002040608 and IT WORKS AGAIN!!! But maybe the installation-routines should be improved a bit to also clean the old files before installing new one.
