RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1176399

People

(Reporter: mark, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:53.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/53.0
Build ID: 20170504105526

Steps to reproduce:

Opened Thunderbird mac OSX

Actual results:

Walked away from the computer for about 10 minutes. Then entered the master password prompt correctly. Thunderbird required two more master password entries before becoming accessible. This is easily repeatable - just wait awhile before entering the master password for Thunderbird.

Expected results:

No matter how long you wait before entering your master password, Thunderbird should only require one single entry before becoming accessible.
Expect this to be resolved soon in a future version via bug 1176399

Summary: delay in logging in requires three times entering password → delay in logging in requires three times entering master password

Well, here it is June of 2019 and this bug is still with us with in TB 60.7.1 (64-bit). I can't tell from this bug's comments if bug 1176399 is the "new" resolution bug. From what I can tell, the OAuth2 situation is not applicable, and the bug 1176399 is also marked as "resolved". So that leaves me with two different bugs, no resolution for the original problem reported 2 years ago. The method to reproduce has not changed, see previous comment please. Thanks.
