Starting around the 2017-05-25 nightly, the awesome bar no longer receives keyboard focus when a new tab is opened. This means cmd+t, cmd+v no longer works to open a url from the clipboard, and cmd+t, first-letter-of-common-site, return no longer works to open frequently visited locations from the keyboard. This is less awesome.

Are you in fullscreen mode when you notice this? If so, this is likely a dupe of bug 1367621.
