Attached file Mailbox file with malformed messages (deleted) —
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:54.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/54.0 Build ID: 20170612121707 Steps to reproduce: I have received some spam e-mails with malformed headers Actual results: The amount of new messages was indicated on the folder name in the list of folders. When I clicked the folder no messages were shown in the list of messages. The folder content menu item "Junk löschen" = "Empty junk folder" did not delete these messages, and the indication of unread messages in spam folder kept appearing. Expected results: I should have seen some representation of malformed messages in the list of messages, so that I could at least remove them. This happens in K-9 Mail Android app.

Summary: Malformed e-mail not shown in the list → Malformed e-mail not shown in the list, cannot be marked as read or deleted
I am using Thunderbird 52.2.1 (64-Bit) on Ubuntu Linux, but I have been seeing this issue with earlier versions as well.
Using attachment 8895069 [details] as a local folder, I can see the SPAM messages and delete them. The situation would be different for an IMAP folder, so are you using POP or IMAP? If you're using IMAP, you've reported a duplicate of bug 1345266.
I am using IMAP, so I guess you would mark that as a duplicate. Too bad the other bug is considered "enhancement" instead of the bug it is.
Enhancement or not, we're volunteer driven, so unless someone steps up to fix the bug, it won't get fixed.

(In reply to Jorg K (GMT+1, mostly AFK 22-27 Dec., bustage-fix only) from comment #2) > Using attachment 8895069 [details] as a local folder, I can see the SPAM > messages and delete them. I can also see the emails in a Local Folder, although they don't display anything useful. I then can copy them to a real IMAP folder and the summary on 7 lines shows only the current time and, again, don't show anything useful inside the emails. Reporter, are you absolutely sure you don't see these emails in the folder with just a time and maybe a date?
