Same authentication for POP/IMAP and SMTP

Details
Hi,
I use the same authentication (server, name, password) for IMAP and SMTP.
When I open my mailbox, Mozilla asks me a password.
When I send a message, Mozilla asks me the same password again.
Like Communicator did, Mozilla should detect that I use the same server for
incoming and outgoing messages and "remember" the first password I typed.
Best regards
Dominique VOLPE

Reporter: can you still confirm that this is the case? This is not a dupe of
18565, since that bug was marked as fixed before this bug was even filed. It may
be a regression.
It WFM, though I use the same SMPT server for two different IMAP accounts.

Hi,
indeed, it is a dupe of #18565.
When I set the following pref, the problem is fixed :
user_pref("mail.smtpserver.smtp1.auth_method", 2);
Thanks
Dominique
