Steps to reproduce:

Have your GTK/GNOME font set to a bold font.

Start Firefox Nightly with Profile Manager (already at this point you should see, if you compare to FF 55.0.3 that the font has changed for the whole profile manager ie all elements)

choose your profile
Then you will also see that the font is different on the Tabs names where it now when im entering this bug says "Enter A Bug"


Actual results:

The font shown for tabs names and Profile managers gtk elements are different compared to my other GTK apps and what FF 55.0.3 shows. 

I also noticed the same issue in Thunderbird Daily 
All this is since maby a week or so back... not sure about exact date
(Can attach screenshots later ...  if nessesairy)


Expected results:

If you have choosen a Bold font in GNOME / GTK you should have that on the tabs names and in the profilemanager(that shows up when you start Firefox) aswell...

The change in behavior would be due to https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/143ef903d8f6

I can reproduce that by setting "gtk-font-name=DejaVu Sans Bold 10" in ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini, but I can't find that producing a bold font in gtk3-demo or gtk3-widget-factory.

It seems that the new behavior more closely follows that of GTK3.

In which GTK apps are you seeing a bold font?
Are any of these using GTK3?
What is the version of libgtk-3?

@karlt you are right. 
Nightly follows the font that i have set in GNOME/GTK more closely than earlier Firefox.
If i have set a bold font, it would show up in like gedit if you open a new tab, the tabs name in the tab would be bold... 
(But it is not the actual Bold thing i was looking for, rather the font i have set in GTK, to show this more clearly i set it to Bold...)

and i thought first that Firefox should have the same fonts as "Page 1" 


So i think we are done here, can i close this bug somehow or?

Thanks.  I'll mark this as WONTFIX.

Adwaita 3.22 uses a bold font for tabs, even when gtk-font-name is not bold.
It would be possible to make Firefox follow GTK's tab font and weight in
Firefox tabs, but it would be clearer to file a new bug to request that
change.  That probably won't be WONTFIX, but it's likely not bad enough get
attention, and so would need someone to offer to implement.
