We removed language detection from download buttons long time ago so the downloads are currently offered based on the page locale instead of browser/user locale. As I see many people downloading Quantum in English, I firmly believe that the browser locale detection needs to be restored for a better UX.
* The Quantum landing page is offered only in English and German, leading to Bug 1403443. In this case, the translation infobar won't work even if it's restored (Bug 971044).
* Marketing folks constantly use the /en-US/ prefix for links on blog posts, e.g. [1].
* Press outlets also use the /en-US/ prefix for links. It's no problem for media in U.S. but is definitely a problem for articles based on such Mozilla Blog posts, like [2], or translated articles, like [3]. Note that some outlets are referring to Mozilla Press Centre UK [4] since it's the canonical press centre for most countries other than U.S.
