Details
With the (Moz) profile manager its possible to specify where the files that
make up a profile are stored. However, the Profile Manager's own file (ie the
file that records where the profile directories are) is always
%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Mozilla\registry.dat
Might it be possible to have a (registry or environment or similar) setting
that tells Moz that the registry.dat is elsewhere?
Aside: As I happended to find out today, registry.dat is not simply a record of
where all the profiles are, but also contains machine-specific information, and
among other things, a record of which plug-ins are installed. If I understand
the purpose of Moz profiles correctly, this information should not be there! If
the user has an (NT) roaming profile that plug-in information could be wrong.
Resolving as invalid.

Apologies, that was me. The form data was accidentally reposted.
Why was this bug marked RESOLVED INVALID instead of RESOLVED DUPLICATE? If it is
indeed INVALID, shouldn't bug #141780 also be marked INVALID?
