There needs to be a way to open the sidebar thru JS. This is on the beta criteria page at http://client/seamonkey/prd/beta1.htm

Resummarizing. JS needs to open sidebar *and* select a specific panel.
Robert has a hack already checked in that accomplishes this for specific URLs used for Search. This would be sufficient for beta1, if it works. cc'ing rjc.
