Some users are still seeing distorted colors like bug 1417442. For example, see bug 1417442 comment 86. It seems related to nvidia devices instead of AMD. Jean-Yves, any ideas here? I guess we need about:support information.

Not enough information to say... the previous report (forked into bug 1422114) isn't actually about playing video, and the user was using windows 7 (where there's no concept of nv12 vs rgb surface). So: 1- Is the problem happening for video playback or rendering of any content. 2- Is the user using Windows 7 or later. 3- Is setting the use-nv12-format to false fix the problem?

Go to about:config look for a use-nv12-format preference, and toggle its value from true to false. Attempt to play the video again. is the issue fixed?

Can you set media.wmf.dxva.d3d11.enabled to false and see if that fixes it for you? Otherwise, you'll have to disable hardware acceleration in the Preferences -> General -> Performance

Doesn't work. Disabling HW acceleration does fix it though, but videos become color sharpened. Anyway, I'm waiting for a real fix.

Not related! Not the same bug. This bug only happens in Firefox. Chrome works just fine with HW Accel on or off.

This issue does have a very significant impact on browsing experience. It occurs often, and only in few cases can it be negated by switching the video to a lower resolution. On my machine, firefox is no longer a reliable web-browser as long as this issue exists. PLaying video's is an important function. Because of this, I suggest increasing the importance even further. If any information is required, I am willing to assist.

Too much coincidence there.

no it isn't.. this bug was for AMD cards and for hardware decoding. you use neither

I have the same problem with GTS 450 Graphic Card (In my opinion it's a bug with specifics grapghics cards)

GTX 460M here, same problem.
