Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0 Build ID: 20171207170405 Steps to reproduce: Open Firefox New Private Window from browser menu Actual results: All installed add-ons are active and shown on the browser toolbar. They are not disabled by default, and there is no feature to disable them all at once only in the private window. It also breaks expected compatibility with Chrome Add-ons (Web Extensions) behavior, which are disabled by default in Chrome Incognito Windows, so users are accustomed to expect more security and privacy in such windows regardless of browser choice, and trust Firefox does the same. Expected results: Installed Add-ons should be either disabled by default in Private Windows, or easily switched off. Most add-on ask for a long list of permissions at install, and users are unable to control what these permissions are used for as it changes with add-on updates. Some add-ons disclose collection and sending user and browsing stats to the developer and 3rd parties for a fee. Since Private Windows are used for especially private matters like online banking etc, its paramount to provide easy Add-ons Disable switch in Private Windows or disable they by default without affecting add-ons activity in normal browser windows.
Summary: Private windows has all Add-ons active, and no Disable Add-ons Switch → Private windows have all Add-ons active, and no Disable Add-ons Switch
