As part of the plan to deprecate FTP within the browser we would like to log a warning to the console when a top level or sub resource is loaded that is of the FTP protocol. We should do this as early as possible so developers get as long as possible to resolve.

What is the plan with this and FTP over TLS/SSL (FTPS)?

Update?
Flags: needinfo?(jkt)
I was moved onto other work, this wasn't considered a priority. From memory: I struggled to get logs to be sent through from FTP pages to the console due to the code we have for consoles expect a document and FTP isn't represented with a document. It likely will be a lot more work than we initially expected unless I am missing something obvious. I'm going to unassign myself as I'm not working on it, however I am very interested in getting this done.
