The fix described above does not work in our site (client: Thunderbird 52.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1 / server: Exchange 2010 on an MS Windows 2008 R2). It does not work for logins 20 characters long (max length in our configuration) (it works only for logins 19 characters long and shorter : send ok). Same configuration as in bug id=1174159 : send an email through an exchange server (STARTTLS, NTLM). For smtps logins 20 characters long, it works only with the workaround (network.auth.force-generic-ntlm-v1=true)

Version 91 has all new smtp backend code. If you can still reproduce this issue, please file a new bug report https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=MailNews%20Core&component=Networking%3A%20SMTP
